Thank you, Murray. We really enjoyed our time with you and it gave us a foundation for our trip to the South Island. We didn't get to do all of the tramping we wanted to because of damage to the trails from the earthquake and waist high snow where there is usually ankle high snow at that time of year. But we had a great time anyway, doing a lot of day hiking and going over to Milford Sound for a day.

Murray: Just wanted to let you know that, notwithstanding the horrible weather that greeted me on my visit to Auckland, I did indeed enjoy my tour with you -- the volcanos, the birds, the trees, etc. Small item that it might be, I especially remember looking through your microscope at the black sand -- and seeing all the colors and minerals. And I remember the gannets and pukeko and the magpies and all the various colorful small birds. And, of course, the 'Christmas tree.
